Today, DJs aren't NECESSARILY hired based on skill set (unfortunately). Skills are absolutely important, but you have to be able to book the gig in order to show off your skills. Go through lessons on negotiation, contracts, building a website, social media strategy, and more. DJs need to develop a brand identity and learn entrepreneurial skills to turn a hobby into a business.
