 DJ Kiombe’s journey in music and life is a true testament to resilience and creativity. Born and raised in Detroit, where her deep connection to music began at a young age. Introduced to piano lessons at four, she spent nine years honing her skills.

From early on, DJ Kiombe demonstrated a knack for crafting mixtapes for friends and family, showcasing her unique ability to curate unforgettable musical experiences. It was during her teenage years that she realized her calling to become a DJ, inspired by the transformative power of music to evoke emotion and set the mood for any occasion.

Her journey took her to Broadcasting School at SPECS Howard in Southfield, Michigan, where she gained valuable skills and insights into the world of media and entertainment. Later, she ventured to Los Angeles, where she carved out a niche for herself in the entertainment industry, defying convention and charting her own path.

Describing her journey as "a diamond in the rough," "unheard of," and "creative," DJ Kiombe exemplifies the spirit of ingenuity and perseverance. She embraced every opportunity that came her way, making her own connections and forging her own path to success.

Professionally, DJ Kiombe has a rich background in the entertainment industry, having worked for major studios like Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO/HBO Max, Showtime, Netflix, CBS Television Studios, and DreamWorks Animation SKG. Her roles have included Digital Systems Coordinator, Prep-post Accounting, Contract Administration, Residuals, and Payroll. Currently, she works for a non-profit organization called Turn A New Leaf in Arizona as a Budget & Grant Accountant.

The Next Chapter: DJ

One pivotal moment in DJ Kiombe's journey was when she met DJ Bathsheba while attending the Ultimate Women's Expo in Arizona. Inspired by DJ Bathsheba's skill and passion for music, DJ Kiombe connected with her and sought lessons, laying the foundation for her own DJing career. This connection led to DJ Kiombe's participation in the Ultimate Women's Expo as a Co-DJ in 2022 and Solo-DJ in 2023, marking significant milestones in her journey.

DJ Kiombe discovered The DJ Coach while browsing YouTube. She stumbled upon a video on the Pioneer DJ channel called "First Steps: Learn to DJ with the DJ Coach." Despite the video being over two years old, it sparked her interest. She decided to explore further, created an account, and soon after, through a conversation with DJ Hapa, learned about the Level Up 50 course. This led her to become an active and enthusiastic member of the DJ Coach community.

DJ Kiombe’s gigs include co-DJing and solo DJing for The Phoenix Arizona Ultimate Women’s Expo at the Phoenix Convention Center, a prom send-off in Santa Monica, CA, various local birthday parties, and co-DJing at a high school prom. She is also booked for the 2024 Queen Creek, Arizona Juneteenth Festival.

Her story, filled with passion and determination, is a testament to the power of pursuing one's dreams and continuously evolving. DJ Kiombe embodies the spirit of resilience and creativity, using her unique background and experiences to inspire others.
